Medium: Metal Work
In my studio you will be able to see the production of my work starting with the design process, cutting of the metal, welding, texturing and the patina finishing of my artwork. I create wall art, fabricated 3-D sculpture and yard art.
My metal work is a combination of my many years of being a graphic artist and and from the experience of working in an art bronze foundry. My original designs are first drawn on paper, I then draw the design onto the metal and cut it out with my plasma cutter. Next I weld the images together, texture them and add a flame patina, created with oxides and nitrates. The work is then sealed with a clear-coat or wax.
