Chris is a representational figure painter, primarily focusing on narrative storytelling, and recreating oil-painted dream-like visions and scenarios, who has been making his living as an artist since 1999. Using oil as his primary medium, he has exhibited his paintings nationally, as well as in Europe. He studied with traditional oil painter William Patterson, who instructed him in the old oil painting techniques employed by the Italian and Dutch masters, performing many copies and reproductions. Along with his original paintings, Chris also produces many commissioned works of art, which mainly include portraits, reproductions, and other narrative pieces. Chris has participated in over 70 exhibitions over his career, and has been internationally recognized by being a finalist in 2014, 2015, and 2016 in the prestigious Art Renewal Center’s international salon. He was an award winner in 2015, and was invited to show his piece, “The Scrum”, at the European Museum of Modern Art in Barcelona, Spain and then at the Salmagundi Club, in Manhattan, NY. He was also featured in American Art Collector, the Circle Foundation for the Arts, Artelibre Magazine and also in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine as “One to Watch”, having his painting, “Mechanics of the Pack” displayed and then purchased by the prestigious Greenwich, Connecticut - based, Seven Bridges Foundation. Some of his collectors and clients include, Robert Duffy, co-founder of Marc Jacobs and co-director of Louis Vuitton, the Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, and Logan International Airport. Recently, two of his paintings were loaned to the US Embassy in Stockholm, Sweden, to be displayed at the US Ambassador to Sweden's residency, during his service to that country, as a part of the US Department of State’s ongoing exhibition, “Art in the Embassies”. Originally hailing from New England, Chris, his wife Kathy and their three boys live in The Dalles, Oregon and is primarily represented by Bowersock Gallery in Provincetown, Massachusetts.
