I use many techniques in creating my unique, one of a kind, wall art. The handmade pieces I create are made with the love and passion I have for the medium. My stitching is freestyle and I use my own designs. I use a sewing machine, bits of fabric, thread, and other ephemera to create these unique wall pieces for everyone to enjoy.
I mostly start with a white piece of fabric when using paints and dyes. Other times, I cut up small pieces of fabric and put them back together as a new creation. Whatever method I use, the next step is to layer up the front with batting and backing and then decide what quilting needs to be done to enhance this art. This is where the texture part of the quilt is important, depending on the design of the quilting. It can either be the “star” of the quilt or just support it.
I live in a most beautiful valley at the base of Mount Hood, so inspiration is everywhere. I am very fortunate to live and work in such an amazing place.
