PALOMA AYALA

2026 Map Number: 25

Medium: Photography

In recent years, my love for the Columbia Gorge has transformed from an awe-inspiring vista to a deep appreciation for its intricate details. I zoom in on the frost created on the wildflower’s petals, capturing the delicate textures that whisper stories of resilience. These tiny details, often overlooked, become the building blocks of the Gorge's soul, a vibrant embroidery woven from sunlight, wind, and hope. As an evolving artist, I strive to capture not just the majestic vistas, but the emotions this landscape ignites within us - the sense of awe, the whisper of serenity, the permanent spirit of nature, the things that make us feel but we can’t name yet.
